Richard B. Woodbury – Raised in Northern Michigan, Mr. Woodbury joined the U.S. Army after attending high school, and spent 4 1/2 years working as a practical nurse with combat hospitals and surgical teams. His interest in literature and a love of the high desert led him to St. John’s College after his service. After college, he plans to pursue a career in higher education.
David McGee – Is a Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Technician Basic and Wilderness EMT. He has volunteered with Atalaya Search & Rescue, a non-profit technical SAR team accredited by the Mountain Rescue Association, in Santa Fe, NM. He will be commissioning in the United States Marine Corps upon graduation from St. John’s College. Also an experienced carpenter, he hopes to apply his varied skills to the work in Nepal.Manish Jung Thapa- A freshman at St. John’s College from Nepal , Manish started working as a tutor in Kathmandu Academy after high school. He is the founding vice-president of Rotaract Club of Baneshwor and was involved with Project Jomsom 2009 and various other community projects before coming to St. John’s.
Shishav Parajuli – Born and raised in Kathmandu, came to the US to study liberal arts. Mr. Parajuli has experience assisting the traveling medical camps that service the rural areas of Nepal, and has extensive knowledge of Nepalese language and culture. He hopes to use his St. John’s education to improve the political stability of his home.
Prakash Pathak – Spent 2 years as a teacher in the same village school where he had been a student, an experience which drove him to continue his own education, in the hopes of one day becoming a more effective instructor for his countrymen. Mr. Pathak has also worked with medical and environmental groups in Nepal.
